Behavior impacted by truth of her return…
Am I being impacted by the truth of Jesus’ return?
I believe Jesus is coming in my lifetime!
We will see persecution like we have never known…
Wars, famine, martyrs,
Revival!
Preached about Second Coming on January 18, of this
year, 2015…
Allow me to reprise a short summary…
Why I
believe I will live to see the return of Jesus Christ.
1. The Bible talks about it!
Mentioned 318 times in the NT; 1 out of every 25
verses.
His Coming
will be:
Personal (I will come again)
Bodily (Physical) (This same Jesus)
Visible (Every eye will see Him; look
on Him whom they have pierced)
Glorious (Saints and angels)
Imminent (Watch and be ready)
Everyone since the time of Jesus has believed that He
could return at any time.
There is not another sign that needs to be fulfilled
in order for Him to split the heavens and return in that cloud of glory!
2. The Disciples talked about it (James and
John)… restore the Kingdom…
3. Angels talked about it!
4. Paul talked about it!
5. The Lord’s Supper talks about it!
6. The early church talked about it!
7. Jesus talked about it!
Today I am
talking about it!
But from the
perspective of a burning heart!
TEXT Hebrews 10:25 Not forsaking
the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting
one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching.
Approaching
means “at hand”.
Romans 13:12 The night is far spent, the day is at hand.
Philippians 4:5 …The Lord is at hand.
Knowing that
Christ’s return is imminent, believers are to get together and encourage each
other to remain faithful to Him.
If we really
believe that Jesus is coming soon, how does this help create a burning heart?
1. EXPECTANCY: We love His appearing!
2 Timothy
4:8 (NKJV) Finally, there is laid up for me the crown of righteousness, which the
Lord, the righteous Judge, will give to me on that Day, and not to me only but
also to all who have loved His appearing.
2. URGENCY: We live to be like Him!
1 John 3:2–3
(NKJV) Beloved, now we are children of God; and it has not yet been revealed
what we shall be, but we know that when He is revealed, we shall be like Him,
for we shall see Him as He is. 3 And everyone who has this hope in Him purifies
himself, just as He is pure.
3. INTIMACY: We long for the Wedding Day!
Revelation
19:7 (NKJV) Let us be glad and rejoice and give Him glory, for the marriage of the
Lamb has come, and His wife has made herself ready.”
We want
everyone to be ready!

Corinthians 11:2 (NKJV) For I am jealous for you with godly
jealousy. For I have betrothed you to one husband, that I may present you as a chaste virgin to
Christ.

especially as we see the big Day approaching.

1. BE COURAGEOUS!
James 5:8 You also be
patient. Establish
(strengthen NASB) your hearts (take courage NLT), for the coming of the Lord is at hand.
2. BE WATCHFUL!
I Peter 4:7 But the end of
all things is at hand; therefore be serious and watchful in your prayers.
3. BE FAITHFUL (hesed: covenant loyalty)!
Revelation 1:3 Blessed is he
who reads and those who hear the words of this prophecy, and keep (obey) those
things which are written in it; for the time is near.
Revelation 22:20 “…Surely I am
coming quickly.” Amen. Even so, come, Lord Jesus!
It looks
like the enemy is winning, but Jesus is coming to set things right!
